G-VLCN / XH558 (cn SET12) Having received a permit to fly just two days earlier, this was the first flying display by a Vulcan for 15 years. What a stroke of genius to fly it in formation with PA474, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster - probably the two most significant RAF bombers in the air together

In two words "historical significance". Not only two great Avro bombers together in the air, but over RAF Waddington as well.

Just imagine the view that the Tailgunner would get in this fantastic formation!!! Top marks to whomever came up with this idea to formate the two Avro legends so soon after the return to flight of the Vulcan!!!
